For Canadian and ANCORE co-founder Isaac Lewis, this deal means realizing both a personal and business dream. “Growing up watching and playing hockey, you hope to one day be a part of the NHL in any capacity,” said Lewis. “To have that become a reality and then for our product to also be an accessible training option for the fans and aspiring players watching at home is unique. What’s better than training with the same gear as the pros?”
ANCORE’s products will be available in visitor locker rooms across the league by the start of training camp for the upcoming 2022-23 season. The company is excited to support the training and performance of the world’s best hockey players for many seasons to come.
About ANCORE: Founded in 2019, ANCORE’s ascent in the fitness industry has been meteoric, garnering acclaim from industry leaders like New York Yankees Performance Director Eric Cressey and BioSteel co-founder Matt Nichol as well as winning Men’s Health “Best Portable Cable Machine” award as part of their 2022 Home Gym Awards. The company designs, engineers, and assembles its products in the USA at its HQ in Salem, MA. ANCORE supports the training of teams and organizations across the four major professional North American sports leagues (NHL, MLB, NFL, and NBA) and UFC and PGA champions.
]]>Unlike flywheel or inertial-based systems, ANCORE provides a true functional training experience. The secret? A proprietary spring-loaded torque mechanism. You'll find there is always tension on the cable allowing for concentric, eccentric, and isometric movements. Moreover, the resistance mechanism isn't dependent gravity which allows for everything from slow, controlled movements (like those found in many physical therapy settings), high-speed, explosive movements (like those found in many sports performance settings), and everything in between. Because of this, most of our community members compare the resistance experience to a pneumatic system.
Fully loaded (with three resistance plates on either side), the ANCORE weighs about seven pounds and is no bigger than the size of a dumbbell. This makes it an ideal training device for those on the go, looking to maximize their current training facility, or wanting to bulk up their home gym without adding a cumbersome piece of equipment. We’ve heard many stories of customers and professional teams packing their ANCORE with them in a suitcase or backpack when they hit the road.
Above everything else, the ANCORE was designed to provide a high-quality cable training experience regardless of your space, circumstance, or unique training needs.
Adjusting the resistance on the ANCORE is a central part of the training experience. Whether it’s increasing the resistance just a little bit by adding a 5-pound plate or loading up for heavier movements by adding multiple 10-pound plates, the resistance plates are what makes the experience truly customizable. The range of resistance is 5 pounds to 65 pounds and can be easily adjusted in increments of 5 pounds and 10 pounds via our twist on/twist off plates system.
The cable length goes up to 8 feet providing the space needed to perform a wide variety of movements.
The universal mount interface on the back of the ANCORE enables it to seamlessly go between all of our different mounting options. All you have to do is remove the locking pin from the back of the device. So, when it comes to picking the right mount for your ANCORE setup, you can literally never go wrong.
The universal carabiner clip on the end of the device allows for a truly customizable training experience. Everything from tricep ropes to cook bars to straps are compatible with the ANCORE and can be added in a snap.
The ANCORE was designed with the athlete in mind, and we aren’t just talking about the ones you see on TV. To us, being an athlete means continually and relentlessly striving to improve and live actively regardless of everything else. This is why we believe anyone can be an athlete and in the power of athletes of all kinds.
Let’s get training.
]]>It has been more than a year since the launch of the first-generation ANCORE. During that period, our team continually innovated by listening to our customers' feedback. With the simple start of "what-ifs," our product team went back to the drawing board to build out a next-generation cable training system that enables those training at the highest level to do so without compromising space or performance quality. So, what is different about the ANCORE Pro? To summarize, the ANCORE Pro comes with five fresh improvements that meet our mission of enabling athletes of all kinds to train without limits.
Our first-generation Resistance Plates were a breakthrough in fine-tuning the resistance of the ANCORE in the easiest, no-brainer way. Knowing that these Resistance Plates are just as critical to the training experience as the base unit itself, we reimagined ways that the internal components can work together to increase durability and precision when adjusting resistance. The first-ever redesigned Resistance Plates are now available with the ANCORE Pro and ANCORE to allow athletes to train at the highest level again, again, and again.
The machined-metal face has a commercial-grade construction to withstand the high-performance environments where our customers train. The new anodized machined-metal faceplate is twice the hardness of steel and takes durability to the next level. The metal face also securely fastens the roller guidance system that is the bread and butter of the new ANCORE Pro.
The roller guidance system is at the heart of our smoothest-ever training experience. The rollers are installed on all four sides of the ANCORE Pro, allowing a secure gateway for the cable to exit and enabling athletes to train in all planes of movement. The smooth stainless-steel roller surface with high-velocity ball bearings promises longevity while offering the best cable training experience to date.
We changed our cable to a smaller diameter line with a Dyneema® core and a polyester twill cover. The 2.8mm cable has a tensile strength of 1,250 pounds with extremely low stretch. This new, smaller cable allows the ANCORE Pro to minimize friction while guaranteeing maximum durability for high-performance training.
Finally, the laser etching on the machined-metal faceplate provides a clear direction for orienting the ANCORE Pro. Additionally, each plate has a permanent pad print to indicate which side of the ANCORE Pro the plate should be attached.
The ANCORE Pro is the culmination of hard work by the ANCORE team and a testament to our community's dedication. ANCORE Pro is truly a cable trainer built to meet the needs of the modern athlete.
]]>Simple in design and sleek in look, the Wall Mount has been around since some of the earliest ANCORE prototypes. While the Wall Mount, like the ANCORE, has been improved over time, the original concept of a simple, permanent mounting solution has always remained. Here's a closer look.
Whether it's in a large training facility or home gym, the Wall Mount's minimalist black and silver design allow it to fit in amongst other training tools without sticking out. Like all ANCORE, the Wall Mount features the universal mount interface making it compatible with all ANCORE models. Designed to be secured to a wooden stud, all the hardware to install the Wall Mount is included making the setup process as seamless as possible.
1. Use a Stud Finder to locate the center of a wooden wall stud. Mark this location lightly with a pencil.
2. Once located, screw the first Wall Mount screw into the wall at the center of the stud. Tighten the screw most of the way, leaving wiggle room for adjustment before installing the second Wall Mount screw.
3. Finally, align the Wall Mount screw vertically and screw the second Wall Mount screw into the wall stud until tight. From there, return to the top Wall Mount screw from step the previous step and tighten it fully. Make sure that the mount is fully secure before using.
While a single Wall Mount only allows you to train from that specific spot. A combination of Wall Mounts can provide tremendous height variability and create a training setup that is completely customized to your programming and space.
]]>No squat rack in your facility or home gym? No problem. The Strap Mount works well on various rounded surfaces, including trees, poles, and more. Here’s a closer look at mounting the Strap Mount to a rounded surface and the many different ways members of our ANCORE Community have used their Strap Mount to build strength.
Our standard Strap Mount strapping is 21 inches in length, and a rounded surface with an approximate circumference of 13 inches is optimal. To double-check the circumference of the surface you have in mind, take a tape measurer and wrap it around the mounting fixture.
If your surface is larger or smaller, there’s no need to worry. We offer custom strapping with the Strap Mount. You can request custom strapping by emailing us at hello@ANCOREtraining.com along with the dimensions of the rounded surface. Once received, a team member will help personally get you set up and find the strapping that fits your squat rack.
In one of the more common scenarios, different poles or posts can be used to mount the Strap Mount. Typically, this happens when a squat rack isn’t in a convenient spot or when the layout of a facility or home gym features one or multiple support beams.
It’s tough to beat the great outdoors when it comes to ideal workout spaces, and many members of our ANCORE Community would agree. When you feel the need to soak up some sun while you train, the Strap Mount can be attached to a tree enabling you to build strength without missing out on Vitamin D.
Sometimes, though, there may not be any beams, or you might want to directly incorporate your ANCORE into a sport-specific area. In both instances, the Strap Mount can be used on those surfaces. Whether it’s wrapped around the banister of stairs, secured to the UFC Octagon, or attached to a treadmill, the Strap Mount adapts to your space and training requirements.
Try applying a damp cloth to the rubber backing if you find the Strap Mount sliding slightly while using it. This can create a bit of tackiness and hold the Strap Mount in place while you train.
]]>Tried and true, the Strap Mount is a favorite among members of ANCORE's community of athletes, trainers, and fitness enthusiasts. Though, with its ability to be mounted on everything from a squat rack, tree, post, and more, it's not hard to see why. Still, the mount's versatility is just one of several features that make this the preferred portable mounting option for athletes everywhere.
Used in some of the most performance-driven places on Earth, the Strap Mount is designed not just to meet but exceed expectations. The 3-inch-wide industrial Velcro strap provides a secure wrapping around the surface of the mounting fixture, and the rubber-lined aluminum plate helps to keep both the ANCORE and mount firmly in place for the duration of your workout. Because safety is always a top priority, the steel lanyard and clip provide an added layer of protection and ensure peace of mind while you train.
The process to attach the Strap Mount to a fixture is quick and comes down to three simple steps.
First, wrap the strap around the mounting fixture and secure the Strap Mount in place with Velcro. For the snuggest fit, pull on the red strap.
Second, take the steel lanyard and wrap it around the mounting fixture clipping the safety clip onto the lanyard. This will provide an extra layer of safety and allow for the best possible training experience.
Finally, align the back of the ANCORE with the mount interface on the Strap Mount and secure it in place via the locking pin. With the ANCORE now on the Strap Mount, you're ready to start training. If you want to adjust the Strap Mount up or down, loosen the strap and slide it into the desired position.
In most cases, yes. The Strap Mount works well on 3 in x 3 in, 3 in x 2 in, and 3 in x 4in squat racks. For non-squat rack fixtures, the optimal circumference is anywhere between 10 inches and 14 inches.
If the mounting fixture you have in mind is bigger or smaller than those dimensions, we also offer custom strapping that can be requested by emailing us at hello@ANCOREtraining.com along with the dimensions of the mounting surface you have in mind. Once received, a team member will help to get you set up personally.
]]>When it comes to picking the right mount for your ANCORE setup, you can never go wrong, literally. Why? Because the mount you start with is compatible and can easily go between any of the other mounts. Here’s how.
First, align the back of your ANCORE with the interface on the mount. Once aligned, attach the ANCORE to the mount.
Then, drop the pin in the back of your ANCORE to secure it to the mount.
To remove your ANCORE from the mount, pull out the pin.
Finally, when you want to attach it to a different mount, attach the back of the ANCORE to the mount interface and drop in the pin.
Now, whether you’re on the go or in your home gym, you can quickly mount your ANCORE in a way that adapts to your training needs.
]]>From garage gym setups to large training facilities, the Strap Mount can be found on all kinds of different squat racks. And while it’s easy to assume all squat racks are the same, in reality, they are as unique as the variety of exercises being done on them. Here’s your complete guide to ensuring your squat rack is compatible with the Strap Mount.
Our standard Strap Mount works well on squat racks with uprights measuring 3 in x 3 in, 3 in x 2 in, or 3 in x 4 in. Most squat racks typically have uprights with one of these three measurements. However, if you want to double-check, all you have to do is measure the length and width of the upright. Check out the picture below as a quick guide.
If your squat rack is larger or smaller than those dimensions, there’s no need to worry. We offer custom strapping with the Strap Mount. You can request custom strapping by emailing us at hello@ANCOREtraining.com along with the name and dimensions of your squat rack. Once received, a team member will help personally get you set up and find the strapping that fits your squat rack.
Finding the right fit for your Strap Mount can make a world of difference in your training. Not only does it make for a better overall experience, but it also adds a certain peace of mind knowing that your setup is completely tailored to your unique training needs.
]]>For those looking to take the whole cable training experience home without sacrificing space, look no further than the Sliding Track Mount. Like the track on any cable machine, the adjustability is limitless and smooth. Unlike other tracks, the Sliding Track Mount takes up virtually no space and blends right into almost any training setting regardless of whether it’s a facility or home gym. Let’s take a closer look.
At six-feet high, the Sliding Track provides the complete cable training experience. The track is made from aluminum and can easily be installed into a wooden wall stud. Like all Mounts, the steel traveler on the Sliding Track Mount features the universal mount interface making it compatible with the ANCORE and locking pin mechanism. What truly makes this mount shine, though, is that each one is handcrafted in our shop. At each stage of the process, whether it’s cutting the aluminum into six-foot pieces, assembling the traveler, or testing the smoothness of the traveler on the track, there’s an ANCORE Team member present. Like the Wall Mount, all the hardware to install the Sliding Track Mount is included to make the setup process as easy as possible.
First, use a Stud Finder to locate the center of a wooden wall stud. Then, determine and measure the height at which each end of the ANCORE Sliding Track Mount will sit. At these two heights, use the Stud Finder to locate the center of the wall stud. Mark this location lightly with a pencil.
From there, with help from a friend, have someone hold the ANCORE Sliding Track Mount and Sliding Track Mount Spacer against the wall. First, it is easiest, to begin with the top Sliding Track Mount screw and Sliding Track Mount Spacer. While holding and confirming proper alignment to the pencil marks at the center of the stud, have the other person screw in a Sliding Track Mount screw in the top location. To allow for alignment of the bottom of the ANCORE Sliding Track Mount with the stud, don’t tighten the screws all the way.
Now, move to the bottom of the ANCORE Sliding Track Mount. Align the ANCORE Sliding Track Mount so that it is centered on the wall stud. Screw in a Sliding Track Mount screw until tight. Then, return to the top Sliding Track Mount screw in and tighten fully.
Now screw in the remaining three Sliding Track Mount screws. Don’t forget to insert the center Sliding Track Mount Spacers. Once the mount is secure, begin your workout.
For those looking for the entire cable crossover setup, adding a second Sliding Track Mount can accomplish just that. For the best experience, many of the members of our ANCORE Community have spaced the tracks out approximately four feet. Not only does this setup allow for a broader range of movements, including cable flies and crossover pulldowns, but it also provides unlimited adjustability to ensure you’re able to train your way.
]]>Adjusting the resistance on the ANCORE or ANCORE Pro is a central part of the training experience. Whether it’s increasing the resistance just a little bit by adding a 5-pound plate or loading up for heavier movements by adding multiple 10-pound plates, the resistance plates are what make the experience truly unique. Here’s how to adjust the resistance of your ANCORE and get the most out of your training.
First, align the resistance plate with the side of the ANCORE.
Then, turn the plate away from you. If the ANCORE is flipped upside down, you’ll flip the plate toward you.
Once the plate has been turned away from you, lock it in place. Don’t worry if the sticker with the number on it isn’t facing you.
It’s important to note that turning the plate away from you when adjusting resistance can significantly increase the lifespan of your resistance and ensure the best possible training experience.
Finally, to add additional resistance, repeat the previous steps until the resistance is adjusted according to your training needs.
