The Plus resistance set comes with a pair of additional 10 lbs plates enabling you to reach the maximum resistance of 65 pounds. The maximum resistance is achieved by attaching three 10 lbs plates per side with the base unit providing 5 lbs of resistance.

what's the range of resistance?

The ANCORE uses simulated resistance measured in a 1:1 ratio with an approximate range of 5 lbs to 65 lbs. For example, using six high resistance plates (~10 lbs each + 5lbs in the base) would provide a total resistance of 65 lbs.

How does the range of resistance compare to a traditional cable machine?

Traditional cable machines are designed at 2:1 or 4:1 ratios using pulleys or levers to achieve a mechanical advantage. For example, using a 2:1 pulley cable machine, the 130 lbs plate is approximately equivalent to 65 lbs of force required. The ANCORE uses resistance measured in a 1:1 ratio, so the resistance on the plates is equal to what you'd experience during a workout.

How does the resistance feel?

Most customers say that the resistance is similar in feeling to a pneumatic system. This is because the resistance mechanism of the ANCORE is not dependent on gravity and allows for high-speed, ballistic movements as well as slower, more controlled movements.

The resistance is generated via a torque-loaded spring mechanism. The torque curve is quite flat in the middle cable length range, where most movements are done. There is a slight progression from the first foot of cable compared to when the cable is pulled out at 8 feet. There is always tension on the cable at any point, allowing for concentric, eccentric, and isometric movements. Additionally, the resistance is not inertial or flywheel-based.

Does the ANCORE or ANCORE Pro require installation?

ANCORE and ANCORE Pro do not require installation with the Rack Mount and Strap Mount options.

Only the Wall Mount and the Sliding Track Mount require installation. ANCORE provides all the hardware and detailed instructions to ensure a seamless installation. We recommend a space where the Sliding Track Mount and Wall Mount can be installed securely to a wall stud.

    Excellent Addition

    I'm using the Ancore Pro for a lot of shoulder internal and external rotation exercises. I don't need to utilize a lot of weight and the 2.5lbs came in useful immediately when doing prehab drills.

    I’m thrilled with my ANCORE. I wanted something I could travel with while out on the road. Resistance bands just haven’t made me happy. The ANCORE looks well made and I suspect it will be problem free for who knows how long. The other big reason I bought it was to have something at work in my dog boarding kennel for when I have a moment to knock out some sets. I was concerned at first if the strap would hold tight enough to this slick powder coated post. I had to order the larger strap which was fine with me for options. There is no wiggle at all. That’s amazing! I also bought the wall dock for storage at work and it is well worth the storage. Great machine. It’s quiet too!! Buy quality and walk away without regret.
